• Hello!

I am excited to begin the 2020-2021 school year as the Assistant Principal of New Hope Elementary. I am beginning my 26th year in education. I hold multiple degrees in the field of education including a Bachelors in Education, Masters in Education, and Specialist in Middle Grades Education.  I have had the privilege to serve both students and teachers in various K-12 settings.  I was a classroom teacher at Eagle’s Landing Middle and Ola Middle School.  As a Science Implementation Specialist for the Georgia Department of Education I had the pleasure of serving teachers at all grade levels throughout the state of Georgia.  Most recently, I served at the district level in Henry County as the Gifted and Talented Teacher on Special Assignment.  In that capacity, I served at both the elementary and secondary level in the implementation of best practices in gifted education.

My husband and I raised our two daughters in Henry County. As graduates of Henry County Schools, they are engaged in successful careers in the fields of science and education.  We have 3 grandchildren.

As your Assistant Principal, I will work to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. It is my belief that every student has the potential to learn at a high level and has the right to do so in a safe, supportive environment.  I believe that classroom experiences should be challenging, relevant and meet the individual needs of each student. I am looking forward to working alongside Dr. Foster and the staff at NHE in the implementation of arts integration and cannot wait to see all of the wonderful things that our students accomplish throughout this year.

I look forward to meeting each of you and working with you this year.

    Respectfully,

    Theresa (Terry) Belflower, Ed.S.
