My name is Yana Chaney.  I am a native of Birmingham, Alabama.  I had the pleasure of attending Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi, where I received my degree in elementary and middle grades (4-8) education.  My career began in 2000  in Dekalb County, Georgia.  I have taught grades 3, 4 and 5, coached a high school volleyball team and sponsored cheerleaders at other schools here in metro Atlanta.   

            I feel privileged to add you to my existing family.  My husband and I have been married for 16 years and have three beautiful little girls, a turtle named Tiny, and my Morkie Abby.  I love playing sports (especially golf), cooking, and singing in the choir at church!

Ensuring success for each student is still my charge this year.  As we dive in, I know that we can still have great success in our academics if we continue to have a positive attitude and help our community and schools stay safe.  With hard work, commitment and a spirit of excellence, there are no goals too high for us to achieve.  Let’s think big, have fun and plan for a successful school year.  Dolphins, grab your tickets and join me for an exciting premiere for the 2022-2023 school year.  We are stronger and better together.
