Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Walnut Creek! I am Chiquita Layne, the LILT - Literacy Instructional Lead Teacher - at Walnut Creek Elementary. I am so excited about this school year and all of the possibilities that it holds for our teachers and students! To share a little about myself, I am married with 2 daughters, ages 20 and 15. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. Professionally, I am highly qualified to teach grades K-5, I have a Gifted Endorsement, a Coaching Endorsement, as well as a Reading Endorsement. I have a B.S. degree in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University and a Masters in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. This is my 7th year at Walnut Creek Elementary School. As the LILT, I will be providing teachers with support in teaching all aspects of literacy to ensure best practices so that our students may experience the best academic outcomes possible this school year and beyond.
