Mrs. Bray

Welcome to the new school year.  I am excited about working with your child and together we will make this year a great one academically as well as socially.

I would like to share a little about myself. I am originally from Florida but I have lived in Georgia for over 25 years. I graduated from Columbia International University in 1992. I have been teaching at Woodland since 2012. I started off as a para and then I was moved into a 3rd grade teaching position.  In 2017, I moved to the wonderful first grade. This will be my 6th year in first grade.  My interests are walking, reading, cooking and crocheting. I have been married since 2000 and I have 3 wonderful children. My oldest daughter will be graduating from North Georgia University with her Accounting degree in August and then starting her graduate degree in the Fall. My only son, who is the middle child, will be starting his third year in college at Georgia Southwestern.  My baby girl will be a senior this year at Woodland High School in the Impact program.

My number one priority as a teacher is to provide an environment where my students feel valued and loved while creating memorable opportunities of growth and learning.  My goal is to help my students to develop critical thinking for daily use and lifelong success. We will work on forming good work habits and gaining independence. I believe when a child becomes comfortable in his/her environment he/she is willing to become a risk taker and learning occurs.

Communication between home and school is vital. Please feel free to call or email me with questions or concerns. (WES phone # 770-506-6391 or mary.bray@henry.k12.ga.us) I look forward to a wonderful and beneficial year and I will do my best to make it a memorable year.
