Meet Ms. Erickson:
I am originally from Crookston, MN and was raised a true military brat who traveled the world as a child. I became a resident of Georgia in ‘92 and am a graduate of Henry County High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota, in addition to, my Masters in Elementary Reading and Mathematics from Walden University. I am certified to teach Middle Grades Reading and Language Arts, as well as, Special Education General Curriculum, P-12. I have taught grades K-5, throughout Henry County and Washington State. I am proud to say that I am a highly qualified teacher.
I have a wonderful daughter who is my sidekick and travel partner. We love to visit new places and take as many pictures, as we can, along the way. Together, we have driven across the western side of the United States. My next goal is to take her through the Alaskan Highway, as I once did as a child.
My passion is education and learning how to serve your child best. When I have down time, I choose to read any educational resource I can get my hands on. I truly crave knowledge and I love to share it with others.
My favorite thing to do, when I'm away from the school, is to spend time with my mom, sister and daughter. They have my heart and I give them as much of my time as I can. If you have an older sibling, at Woodland High School, tell them to stop by the other Ms. Erickson's classroom and say "hello". She looks just like me, sounds just like me and is my younger sister and best friend!
I cannot wait to be YOUR teacher. And, if I do not have the pleasure to have you as a student, you can still come by my room and say "hello". I am here for all students. You are why I am an educator. You make me smile each and every day!Gemma L. Erickson
