Cotton Indian Elementary School

    Leader in Me

    November 30, 2020

    Greetings Cotton Indian Family,

My name is Destiny Rogers and I am the Parent Involvement Coordinator here at Cotton Indian Elementary School. I am very excited for this opportunity to work with you and your family. To further introduce myself, I am a collegiate graduate from the University of West Georgia, go Wolves! I was born and raised in the state of Georgia, and my previous experience working within education has me extremely excited to keep you all informed, participating, and engaged. As a Parent Involvement Coordinator, my job is to keep parents and/or guardians informed about events and volunteer opportunities at CIE. I am here to support you 😊!

Children of all ages benefit by parent participation. Parent involvement makes a huge difference, by enriching our children’s education, as well as their lives. Parent involvement enhances the opportunities available to our kids!  I encourage you to ask your child’s teacher for ways in which you can be involved.  Remember…involvement is more than volunteering with your child’s classroom. Involvement is taking an active role in your child’s education and helping your child at home. We must work together as a team to assist your child in the learning process.

Whenever you are in need of assistance or just have a general inquiry, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school office (770)-474-9983 or via email, destiny.rogers@henry.k12.ga.us. If you are in need of resources, the Family Resource Center (FRC), here at Cotton Indian Elementary School, has many available for you to check out and use within the comfort of your home, such as educational games, reading books, and more!

For current information, visit the Cotton Indian Elementary website at https://schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/cie. I encourage you to access this website and look it over. Many questions are answered here, and it’s a great way to stay informed.

Please watch for flyers, emails, and messages about upcoming meetings, opportunities, or additional information for you and your family. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you.
