I am Darlene Minshew your Title I Parent Involvement Professional. I will be managing the Parent Resource Center (PRC). The Parent Resource Center is in room 205. The PRC has a wealth of materials and ideas for working with your child at home. There are materials for math, language, reading, science, social studies, and games for practicing basic skills. In response to requests and to promote culture inclusiveness, we have added books for ESOL students and cultural diversity.  All of these materials can be checked out for your use at home.

Under normal circumstances the Parent Resource Center is open daily from 8:00AM–2:00PM. However, due to Covid if you need anything from the center, please call the school at 770-288-8561 and leave a message for me to call you or email darlene.minshew@henry.k12.ga.us. I will make arrangements to provide you with materials needed.

In addition to the materials available in the Parent Resource Center, I will conduct virtual parent workshops throughout the school year. These workshops will focus on math, reading, science, social studies, technology, understanding your child’s report card, test scores and other subjects based on parental requests from Title I parent input meetings and surveys. Due to the need for social emotional well-being information, I will also be pushing out activities that promote family engagement and social emotional well-being. Additionally, our media specialist has provided a virtual library for at home use and our P.E. teacher has added family fitness activities and nutritional information to her webpage.

The Parent Resource Center and the Title I sponsored parent workshops provide you with a number of suggestions and materials for working with your child at home. Please take advantage of these materials and workshop opportunities. I look forward to working with you this year to help child be successful academically and socially.

    Thank you,

    Darlene Minshew
