Governor Deal visits Timber
Governor Nathan Deal visited Timber Ridge Elementary on
Tuesday, August 12, 2014. He requested the visit to see for himself the pathway
toward personalized learning on which we have embarked and the manner by which
it is supported through digital learning. During his visit he toured three
classrooms; Ms. Jamylle Brewton’s 5th grade Math class, Ms. Shannon
Burge’s 3rd grade Science, and Ms. Pam Edward’s 5th
grade Reading class. He was warmly welcomed by the staff and children of Timber
Ridge and he engaged in the learning process with the students. This allowed
him a first-hand look at our students in action. As he moved through the tour
he stated to Dr. Consolie “This is
an example of what we hope to see across our state.” This was an exciting event
that allowed our school to showcase the wonderful things happening at Timber
For the safety and protection of all our students, please refrain from bringing any food or drink items into the lunchroom that will be shared with the classroom or multiple students. If you do provide a snack or treat for the class, it must be given to the homeroom teacher for distribution in the class, this will no longer be something we can do in the lunchroom.
