Dress Code Expectations for Henry County High School

Please refer to the Henry County Secondary Code of Conduct.

 

Female Students:

·         Shirts or tops that reveal cleavage, their navel, back, one or both shoulders, or undergarments of any kind are inappropriate for school.

·         Halter tops, tube tops, thinly strapped tops, or other revealing shirts with or without a jacket or a top/shirt underneath are inappropriate for school.

·         Shirts, shorts, skirts, and dresses made of knit or stretch material are inappropriate for school.

·         Shirts, shorts, skirts, and dresses that are above fingertip length with or without leggings are inappropriate for school.

·          No writing of any kind should be on the seat of pants.

·         Shorts and jeans with holes of any kind may not be above fingertip length and may not be worn without solid colored leggings.

·         Pants and shorts are to be worn on the waist at all times.

 

Male Students :

·         Pants and shorts are to be worn on the waist at all times.

·         No undergarments, including boxers and/or shorts, should ever be visible whether a student is seated or standing.

·         Sleeveless shirts/jerseys must be worn with a sleeved undershirt.

·         Hats in the building are prohibited.

 

All Students:

·         Pajamas and house shoes are inappropriate for school.

 

Violations

NOTE: Each violation will result in a disciplinary referral. However, the consequence for each violation is outlined below:

 

1st Violation: Student will be given a warning with an explanation of the violation by an administrator.

 

2nd Violation: Student will be given administrative detention and the parent/guardian will be notified.

 

3rd Violation: Student will be placed in In-School Suspension for 1 day and the parent/guardian will be notified.

 

4th Violation: Student will be placed in ISS for 2 days and the parent/guardian will be notified.

 

5th Violation: Student will be placed in ISS for 3 days and the parent/guardian will be notified.

 

6th Violation: Student will be given Out of School Suspension for 1 day and parent/guardian will be notified.

 

7th Violation: Student will be given Out of School Suspension pending a disciplinary hearing.
