Math Instructional Resources Adoption

Below you will find information regarding the adoption of new, math instructional resources.  The committee desires your feedback!  Please take a moment to read the information, and use the link to take the survey.  We thank you in advance for your time and input!

Henry County Schools has participated in an extensive review of learning resource materials to support the implementation of Common Core State Standards for mathematics.  The review began in June 2012 when all items provided for state-wide review were placed in the commons area of Woodland High School for stakeholders to review.  These materials were reviewed extensively using the state-provided adoption rubric.  Additionally, the committee of teachers and administrators reviewed a variety of options for mathematics instructional materials that support the curriculum and that supplement the GADOE-provided instructional task in the CCGPS frameworks.  Upon review, it was determined that the best option for mathematics instructional materials would be to provide digital resources for elementary and secondary students, including locally created 6-12 flex-books.  A sample flex-book is provided in the link below.

Additionally, all schools will have the option, upon principal approval, to open mathematics classrooms to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environments to increase the level of digital interaction with engaging applications to support the mathematics curriculum.  This is an option that does not necessitate the use of Wi-Fi.

We would like your feedback.  Based on the information provided above, please complete the following survey to provide the committee with feedback on the recommendations:
