Mary Anderson
Nurses Notes
I'm Mary Anderson, the School Nurse. My goal as the health professional is to promote health and well being for students and staff here at Austin Road Elementary. I am on campus daily from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Medicine
When students need to take medicine at school, parents should bring medicine and related equipment to the front office. Please refer to the student handbook under the section Medicine for specific details.
A Medication Authorization Form must be completed if your child need to take medicine during the school day.
All medications prescribed and over the counter should be in its original container. Please do not bring loose pills in a baggie. We can not accept prescription containers that have been altered. Your pharmacist will provide a duplicate label for prescription medication free of charge.
The student's name, name of prescribed medication and dosage should be affixed to the container.
All prescription and over the counter medicines must be kept in the nurse's office.
Students who have asthma are allowed to carry asthma inhalers on their person. However, a signed release form is required releasing the school from liability if the inhaler is not available. I suggest a back up inhaler be kept in the nurse's office.
Please keep the school informed by updating the front office with new contact phone numbers.
