Student Absences-When a student is absent, he/she needs to bring a written excuse for the absence. Phone calls are not accepted, per Henry County policy.

Box Tops-Help your child's class earn FREE money with BOX TOPS!  Check your groceries for this symbol, cut it out, and send it into your child's homeroom teacher!  It's money your child's class can earn to buy much-needed supplies!

Transportation ChangesPlease remember than any transportation changes, whether they are permanent or temporary, must be in handwriting from the parents/guardians. We cannot accept phone calls, per county policy. Thank you!

Websites:  Each individual third grade teacher has her own website. On the website you will find basic information such as schedule and contact information. Please refer to the 3rd grade website for more information about curriculum and important dates!

Homework ProceduresYour child will have Math, Reading, and Vocabulary homework every night. Homework is a reinforcement of the week"s standards that we are learning in the classroom. Reading and Math will be front to back on one sheet, while spelling assignments are copied on the back of our weekly newsletter.

Reading Homework: We ask that all students read every night for 20 minutes, for a total of 80 minutes a week. We understand that the reading assignments given for Science and Social Studies will not take the entire 20 minutes, so please make sure your child is reading something else to obtain the 20 minute reading goal. THANKS!

Study HallStudy hall takes place each day during recess time for 20 minutes. Study hall is for those students who do not complete or turn in homework, do not complete class assignments, or are having difficulty following rules and procedures of the classroom and school.

NewsletterA monthly third grade newsletter is sent home in your child's B.E.E. Notebook. Please be sure to read this informational newsletter!

Shoe Policy for School & PE DaysFor safety reasons, please do not allow your child to wear flip flops to school. Your child will not be able to participate in PE or outside recess if he/she has on flip flops. Thank you for your cooperation.
