We are continuing to work on comprehension skills also.
Homework
Homework is good practice to reinforce our standards! It is very important that students do homework nightly and turn it in weekly. Please record 20 minutes per night on the Reading Log/Calendar; A book review must be written weekly. Remember that new guidelines started in January. A book talk is optional. The Word Work format has changed also. Tic Tac Toe Activities are no longer an option. Monday, students do Configuration Boxes, Tuesday, they write sentences, Wednesday, they write words in alphabetical order. And Thursday students should Cover, Copy & Compare as practice for the Word Work Test on Fridays. There are four math activities per week. Please follow the problem solving format when working these problems. We need to see that students write the equation, solve the problem, and give the answer in a complete sentence. Please continue the moon phase journal. Occasionally there may be an additional activity to complete.
