We have three units which we will be exploring this school year: Greek and Roman Mythology, Pioneers and the American West, and Oceans. We will begin our SAGE classes the third week of school with Greek and Roman Mythology, which is an introduction to Greek, Roman, and other cultural gods (such as Norse) with emphasis on student creativity in writing about them. Our students need to know about them when studying literature in middle and high school. Students will be using their research skills and references, reading and reviewing nonfiction and fiction passages on events that passed before us. The unit will culminate with student performances and a celebration.
We have put many resources and games on the website to help our SAGE students develop research projects. The URL is located at the
We will be utilizing a great deal of technology in all three units. I will help you learn how to use the Internet properly for research, create power point presentations through Microsoft Powerpoint, how to create spreadsheets through Microsoft Excel, and how to create your own websites online. We will be utilizing websites online for in-depth studies that involve the Multiple Intelligences, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
We promise to work very hard to help our SAGE students learn through having new experiences and enjoying success this school year. We want to make this the best school year our SAGE students have ever had, so we are looking forward to an exciting and wonderful experience.
