Welcome to Dutchtown High School - the Home of the Bulldogs!
It is indeed a privilege for me to serve as Principal of Dutchtown High School. I am excited to have been named Principal of Dutchtown High School. The Dutchtown cluster schools are some of Henry County's best kept secrets. Our strength lies in our school community. We are fortunate to have a school community of committed and dedicated parents who partner with our teachers, administrators and support personnel to educate, encourage and empower our students. At DHS, we believe that our charge to keep is to ensure our students' success by affording them highly effective teachers who are committed to providing high quality instruction in a safe, orderly and productive learning environment.
Our students represent the best of Henry County Schools as evident by our numerous accolades including but not limited to our award winning Science students, our well-renowned chorus, our stellar JROTC program, our highly competitive athletic programs and our postsecondary placement success. At DHS, we prioritize our students' success by facilitating optimal student achievement across all academic and pathway subject areas. We recognize and accept that not only are we charged with ensuring our students' academic success, but we are also committed to their character development in crucial areas such as community service , work ethic, and career orientation. We do not seek to merely prepare our students to make a good living, but to make a good life by respecting others and contributing positively to their community.
Our school is committed to continous improvement in all areas, and we solicit our school community's assistance and partnership in continuing to create a school community that is worthy of our students' highest aspirations. As Principal, I welcome each parent, grandparent, guardian, local business or other community stakeholder to DHS at anytime to discuss how we can continue to work together to enhance our school. We welcome our entire school community to join DHS in our daily efforts to educate, encourage and empower our students to be the best they can be.
Sincerely,
Terry O. Oatts, Ed.D.
