Transportation Changes in Henry County Schools for SY 2012-13: The Henry County School System will implement a Three-Tier Bus Routing System for the 2012-13. This new system has several key features we feel will enhance students' experiences riding the bus which includes more available seats and the elimination of the non-transportation zones for all school levels. Transportation Changes in Henry County Schools for SY 2011-12: The Henry County School System will provide transportation to all eligible elementary students. Transportation for eligible middle and/or high school students will only be provided for those students that live outside one (1) mile driving distance from their school. Any middle and/or high school student living one (1) mile or closer to their school will not be eligible for transportation. |

Transportation Services provides transportation to 22,000 students daily in a safe and secure environment.
Transportation Services is located at 255 Lemon Street, McDonough, Georgia 30253. Transportation Services may be contacted by telephone at 770-957-2025, Fax 770-898-3301, daily from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or until the last child is safely delivered.
Special Recognition
Three Henry County Schools bus drivers were awarded new buses on Friday during a ceremony for all bus drivers with perfect attendance from the 2010-2011 school year.
Amanda Digby, Judy Shadron, and Brandi Day were the winners of the drawing held at the administrative offices Friday afternoon.
Bus drivers with exemplary attendance were entered into a drawing for the new buses that were purchased through the state’s ‘Bonds for Buses’ program. The state sales bonds and the money collected is distributed to local school districts to assist in purchasing new buses.
Rather than just placing the new buses in the fleet, the transportation department saw an opportunity to reward a few lucky drivers.
“We appreciate the drivers who take extra pride in their jobs and make it to work every day,” stated Cliff Shearouse, Henry County Schools Director of Transportation. “They perform a huge service for our kids and they deserve the special recognition. The new bus giveaway is a creative way to reward them.”
