Membership of the Stockbridge Middle Beta Club shall be comprised of students in grades 7-8 who meet a 3.5 or higher grade point average (GPA). Members should demonstrate worthy character, creditable achievement, and a commendable attitude. Upon acceptance of the invitation to become a member of Beta Club, members agree to the terms and conditions set forth in the Constitution and By-Laws, including but not limited to the following:
Each Beta Club member is expected to maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher scale. Failure to maintain this GPA will result in academic suspension from the club for a term of one nine-week grading period. Should the member not improve his/her GPA to a 3.5 or higher after that time, he/she loses membership for the remainder of the school year.
Each Beta Club member is expected to complete 10 hours of service during the school year. Hours cannot be combined with any other club or service organization. Up to three (3) hours can be earned outside of events scheduled for Beta Club. Failure to perform these hours will result in loss of membership.
The Stockbridge Middle chapter of the National Junior Beta Club meets the second Thursday of each month, beginning at 8:15 a.m. Members are expected to attend at least three (3) meetings per semester to actively participate in the club and to make informed decisions about events.
Each member pays annual dues in the amount of $30. Dues include membership into the local and national chapters and a Beta club t-shirt.
