The following model is what personalized learning will look like at TES in 2019! Currently, we are piloting these practices in 25% of our classrooms. We will increase each year until 100% of our model is implemented.
During the first part of the day, students will be working on math and literacy competencies while cruising the classroom. They will be using personalized playlists (itineraries) which will consist of; blended learning, independent and group work, and small group instruction. Students will be looking at data to set their own goals and decide how they want to achieve them. These goals, as well as work samples will be housed in the Learner Profile. Teachers will use platform and other academic data to form small, flexible groups.
During the second part of the day, students will be learning 21st century skills using science and social studies competencies through ongoing, authentic learning and STEM activities.
We believe that students will be more engaged when they are responsible for how and what they learn. We want to offer students voice and choice and teach them the 21st century skills that they will need for a successful future!
