Here at Tussahaw Elementary, we strongly believe that Every child is worth the best
and is capable of success using 21st century skills!
- Goal #1: During the 2016-2017 school year 100% of homeroom teachers at Tussahaw Elementary will effectively increase student agency by using data results to guide students in developing academic (reading, writing, and math) and learner behavior goals each 9 week period and develop and implement a process for students to receive weekly feedback from the teacher on the progress toward individual goals.
- Goal #2: During the 2016-2017 school year, Tussahaw Elementary is committed to increasing teachers’ knowledge and ability to effectively teach writing. Teachers will build strong foundational literacy skills through explicit writing instruction with a focus on the development of ideas in each genre. 100% of ELA teachers will use explicit writing instructional strategies four out of five days a week as measured by mock writing scores.
- Goal #3: The staff at Tussahaw Elementary is committed to creating a school culture which involves administration, faculty, staff, students and their families in partnerships of continuous learning and growth. 100% of staff will implement Tussahaw’s culturally responsive plan. Staff members will implement strategies to improve the school wide climate as measured by surveys, grizzly fest participants, and IC discipline data.
At Tussahaw Elementary, we must ignite the inherent curiosity of our students, while exposing them to diverse learning experiences. We further believe that respect begins with an understanding and by learning to see the world from other points of view. We equip our students with 21st Century skills to enable them to participate as individuals, as members of a group, as citizens of our nation, and as members of the global community. We inspire our students to want to help shape and improve our local and global communities through the committed participation in project and service based learning. We believe that personalized learning provides an opportunity to empower our students to communicate, create, think critically, and collaborate in order to build a peaceful future.
