Ms. George was born and raised in Covington, Georgia.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgia College and State University and a Masters of Arts for Teachers degree in Biology from Georgia State University.  After numerous add-on certifications from the University of West Georgia in the areas of gifted education and instructional supervision, Ms. George received her Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

 

            This year marks Ms. George’s 30th year in education.  As a charter faculty member of Union Grove High School, Ms. George serves as the Instructional Assistant Principal.  Prior to the opening of Union Grove, Ms. George served as an Assistant Principal at Stockbridge High School for three years and as the Instructional Lead Teacher at Mount Zion High School in Clayton County for six years.  In addition, Ms. George taught life science, earth science, biology, and anatomy in the Clayton County School System for eleven years, and was named the Clayton County Teacher of the Year in 1991.

 

            Ms. George lives in Stockbridge with her husband of 30 years, Jackie, who is a graduate of Stockbridge High School.  She has two children; Ivey, a graduate of Union Grove High School and the University of Georgia, and Lydia, a senior at Union Grove.
