In April of 2010, Ola principal, Ross Iddings, named Joey Di Nino as Ola's 2nd head wrestling coach since the school inception in 2006-07.
 
Di Nino came to Ola after ten successful years as head coach at Union Grove. In his Union Grove coaching tenure, Di Nino's tallied six top five finishes at the state meet highlighted by a 2nd place finish in 2004. He also coached the school's first state champion in school history in 2002.   
 
A native of Stockbridge, Joey graduated from Stockbridge High School. He was the Tigers’ team captain his junior and senior year. He was the State Runner-Up his junior season before winning the 140lb State title his senior season.  Di Nino also won the Tournament of Champions, defeating State Champs from all other classifications. Following graduation, Di Nino earned two wrestling letters at Chowan College while serving as co-captain for the Braves.  Di Nino also wrestled while attending Appalachian State University. 

 

Di Nino’s coaching career began at Eagle's Landing High School as an assistant wrestling coach from 1997-1999. During his tenure at Eagle's Landing, the Golden Eagles won a State title in 1998, finished 2nd in 1999, and  won 3 Area Titles. He went on to work as the assistant wrestling coach for Henry County in 2000 before heading the program at Union Grove in 2001.

-4 Time South Metro Coach of the Year
-10 Time Area/Region Coach of the Year 
 

-Ten top 10 finishes at the state meet (Seven top 5 finishes) 

-Ranked top 10 in the Southeastern region 2008 & 2009 (NC,SC,AL,GA,FL,TN,LA).

 

Under Di Nino’s expertise, he has lead 12 State Champs, 44 State Placers, 70 Area Champs, 134 state qualifiers, 21 National All-Americans and 6 Academic National All-Americans. He also provided direction to 15 wrestlers who have/are wrestled at the collegiate level.


Coach Di Nino and his wife, Tia, live in McDonough. They have two daughters, Braelyn and Haedyn. He has been voted
Teacher of the Month twice and nominated three times to be honored in Who's Who Among American's Teachers.

A native of McDonough, GA, Nick was part of the first graduating class from Eagles Landing High School. He lettered all four years in wrestling and football.  Nick is most recognized for scoring the first touchdown in the school history and being a multiple state qualifier in wrestling.  Following graduation, Meadows attended Clayton State College.  

 

Coach Meadows career began at Eagle's Landing High School, where he was as an assistant coach from 1998-2001. During his tenure at Eagle's Landing, the Golden Eagles won a state title in 1998, took 2nd in1999 and won 2 area titles. Meadows then moved over to Stockbridge where his knowledge helped guide the Tigers to a State title in 2007 (Duals and Traditional) and a State Runner-up finish in 2008.   From there, he joined Coach Di Nino to assist with the Union Grove Wolverines where he played an integral part in them achieving their 8th consecutive area title.

 

With over 14 years experience coaching, Meadows brings a wealth of success to the Ola Mustang program.  During his tenure at each school, he helped guide them to State Titles, produced 7 individual State Champs, 38 State Placersand numerous Area Champions.


Coach Meadows and his wife, Cindy, live in McDonough. They have two daughters, Madison and Gracie. Coach Meadows is employed by Southern States Police Benevolent Association.

Coach Michael Greaves

Michael Greaves is the latest addition to the Ola Wrestling staff. A native of Loganville, GA, Michael graduated from Loganville High School in 2007. He lettered all four years in wrestling and was the team’s captain his senior year.  While competing for Loganville, the Red Devils finished second at the State Meet in 2004 and fourth in 2005.

Coach Greaves received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Valdosta State University with a 3.74 GPA.  This allowed him to graduate Magna Cum Laude. 

He was also active in coaching while taking classes at VSU.  He was able to be an assistant coach at Social Circle High during their summer workouts and camps.  He was also an assistant coach for the Pine Grove Middle School Wrestling team.  During his brief tenure at Pine Grove Middle, three wrestlers advanced to the finals of the conference tournament.

Coach Greaves and his wife Kelcie live in Locust Grove.

“I’m fired up about adding Coach Greaves to our coaching staff. His youth, professionalism, and leadership qualities will be a great asset to our program. He is a leader and knows what it takes to get to a championship level,” said Head Coach Joey Di Nino.
