Red Ribbon Week 2009

Each year Flippen Elementary participates in Red Ribbon Week.  All activities are designed to help students understand and remember the importance of staying drug-free.  This year's theme was "Take A Look At Yourself - Make a Change".  All activities centered around making positive choices and change to make life better at home, school, and in the community.  This year's theme song was "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson.

On Wednesday, students and staff wore crazing hair and/or tacky or inside out clothes to show that drugs turn you inside out.

On Thursday, students and staff wore beadroom slippers and brought a small stuffed animal to school to emphasize hugs not drugs.

On Friday, students and staff wore red and pink as a reminder that they have better things to do than drugs.

This was also the day of the big Red Ribbon Rally with Eagle's Landing Middle and High School students.
