It is time for testing for Special Activities for Gifted Education for next year.If you would like for your child to be tested for SAGE, please send a signed note with your request to your child’s homeroom teacher by February 29, 2012.We will send a permission to test form immediately for you to fill out and sign.We cannot test a student without consent from the parent(s) or guardian(s).If your child was tested last year, he or she cannot be tested this year.If you have questions or concerns, please email me at lfitz@henry.k12.ga.us.Another resource is the Henry County Schools website.
All money raised for Jump Rope for Heart needs to be turned in by Friday, February 17. If you raise $15 you will be able to throw green slime at either Mrs. Wilson, Ms. Mitchell, or Mr. Dean. Relay for Life Fundraiser Beginning next week, February 13 and extending through April 20, we will be doing a fundraiser called "Save Dimes to Save Lives." Each class will have a 20-ounce water bottle to use to save the dimes. Each bottle will hold $100 worth of dimes. If each homeroom filled up a bottle, our UGE team would have $4100 to donate to the ACS!!! Read the flyer.
School council, Helpers Club, and Beta Club will begin selling bottled water, and assorted snacks such as animal crackers and Goldfish every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting Monday, Feb. 6.The items will be 50 cents and proceeds will support classrooms at UGE.Your child will hold onto and be responsible for their snack money themselves.
All 5th grade students should return their immunization forms by Mid-Winter Break (Feb. 17). All 5th grade students need to have updated immunization records in order to enroll in 6th grade. If you have any questions please contact the school and speak to one or our nurses.

UGE is proud to announce that McKenna Shirah placed first in the 3rd Grade County Writing Contest. Congratulations McKenna who is a student in Ms. Fowler's class.
The UGE Helpers’ Club will sell animal items on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 am-7:50 am beginning January 19thin the front lobby area. Students can purchase pencils, erasers, silly bands, animal stamps and beanie baby animals. All items are between $.25 and $3.00. All money collected will go to the Henry County Humane Society.
