I was born and raised in Conyers and graduated from Rockdale County High School in 1998. From there I went to Auburn University and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Education with a degree in Exercise Science. I decided that I wanted to teach so I began working at a school in Newton County while I went to graduate school at night. In 2008 I graduated from Georgia State University with my Masters Degree in Health and Physical Education. After working 3 years in Newton County I began working at Eastminster Private School in Conyers as Health and Physical Education teacher and Middle School Athletics Director.
After 3 years of working at Eastminster I took 2 years off from teaching to travel literally around the world. I was in 5 different countries in Southern Africa volunteer teaching and traveling. Next I spent a month traveling and exploring New Zealand, and then I landed in Australia. I lived and worked in Australia for 1 year and 3 months. Most of my time was spent in the Outback on different sheep and cattle farms. I had a true Australian experience for sure! My trip ended with spending my summer in Maui, Hawaii where I worked on a resort in the Kids Club and Activities department. It was a grand adventure!
When I returned to Georgia in August of 2012 I immediately began working as a P.E. teacher at Luella High School and coaching both cheerleading and gymnastics. I got married on August 10, 2013, and on January 9th, 2015 we welcomed our daughter Kimbrel into the world. I now have a wonderful husband named Bobby, a handsome 9 year old stepson named Tyler who is in 4th grade, and a 1 year old energetic little girl!
After 4 years at Luella I was given the opportunity to return to Elementary school and I'm so thrilled to be here at Bethlehem! My passion is definitely to inspire people of all ages to make decisions that will lead to a healthy life! I'm so excited to meet all of your lovely children and form meaningful relationships with each of them.
