Hi!
Welcome to the Fabulous Smiling Faces of Fifth Grade! My name is Carol Craven-Olthoff. I am so happy to be teaching your child this year.
I had the honor of being named Teacher of the Year for 2008 by the Hampton staff members. It was a privilege and wonderful opportunity bestowed from my fellow colleagues.
I have been educating students for 29 years. Of course, my favorite is 5th grade. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grade. I taught my first five years in a private church school, then moved into public education. I have taught 10 years in Clayton County and 14 years in Henry County.
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. I lived in Hapeville, Georgia, all my life until I moved to Henry County 14 years ago. I live in the Hampton area. I have always wanted to be a part of the community, and Hampton is a great place. I am excited to be a true Georgia peach.
I have always had high expectations for my students. I expect respect and responsibility from them at all times. I am constantly looking for new ways to inspire and motive them to achieve their best.
I finally got married on June 6,2009. I had a beach wedding in Florida. My children are always the class that I teach for that year.
We are going to have a great year in fifth grade. So remember to smile and laugh when you can.
