The Georgia Association of Media Assistants (GAMA) Club is a library media club that promotes citizenship and leadership skills through service and activities, using project based learning. Projects are student lead, utilizing the four Cs - create, collaborate, communicate and critical thinking skills.
GAMA Club is open to all students, grades 6-8. To become a member students must fill out a registration form, complete training in basic library skills, agree to volunteer a minimum of one hour a week and have an Edmodo account to belong to the GAMA club group.
Members may volunteer in the mornings from 8:15 - 8:50 am or in the afternoon from 3:55 to when busses are called. To participate members must have passing grades and no behavior issues in class or in GAMA club.
All members receive training on how to shelve materials, use the media catalog Destiny and navigate the UGM library media center website so they may assist the library media staff. In addition, according to their interests and abilities members may create displays & bulletin boards, promote the library media center's resources with audio, video & other media, help with library fundraisers,
